The Articles of Incorporation and national bylaws drafted in the initial days after the formation of the Society remain the principle guiding documents of the organization to the present day. Revisions to the original documents were made through the years to keep them in line with the changing times.

The document lays out the tenets and organizational structure with specific rules and responsibilities of the offices, the rules of eligibility to membership, the establishment and details of State Societies and Chapters.
